What we collect

Standards Test is a static calculator — all calculations happen in your browser. When you interact with the calculator, we may log an anonymous record of your selections (for example, age range and chosen criteria) on our own server for aggregate usage statistics. These records contain no IP address, no name, and no way to identify you.

We also collect standard analytics data via Plausible and Microsoft Clarity:

  • Pages visited and time on page
  • Browser type, OS, and screen size
  • Country-level location (not precise geolocation)
  • Referral source

We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifying information.

Cookies & local storage

We store a random, anonymous session identifier in your browser's local storage (first-party, no cookies) to group your page views into one visit. It contains no personal data and expires after 30 days of inactivity.

Microsoft Clarity uses cookies for heatmaps and session recordings, governed by Microsoft's privacy policy. You can opt out via your browser's cookie settings or browser extensions such as uBlock Origin.

Third-party services

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Plausible and 30 days in Clarity. Our own anonymous event log is retained until deleted and used only in aggregate form.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and portability of your data. Because we collect no personal data directly, any requests should be directed to the third-party analytics providers linked above.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy occasionally. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
